Hi! I was just wondering about what a wisdom tooth is. Could you help me with this please?
Sandunie
Wisdom teeth are a kind of back teeth called molars. Wisdom teeth are the farthest back in your mouth. Experts think these teeth once helped humans chew tough food, but most people don't really need them anymore. So, sometimes doctors or dentists will remove wisdom teeth because they can cause crowding and pain in your mouth. 🦷

Hi, Russ. Why do frogs jump so high?
Hudson
Hey, Hudson. Frogs jump high and far for a number of reasons. It helps them hunt, escape predators, and move around. They use their strong leg muscles and unique bones. They also have stretchy body parts called tendons. Frog tendons wrap around their joints and bones and keep their jumps spring-y! 🐸

Hi, Russ! I was wondering, can you live off of liquids?
Aria
Hi, Aria! That's an interesting question. The simple answer is yes, it is possible for a person to live off of liquids. In fact, some people have medical situations where they can only eat liquids. However, they have very special diets and get advice from doctors. Most people should not try to live off of liquids. Most of the time, eating only liquids won't give you all the nutrients you need to stay healthy!

Hey, Russ! It's Alexander again, and I have a really cool question! Would it be possible to create a completely new color, or is it not possible to do so?
Alexander
That IS a cool question, Alexander! Some scientists think the answer is "yes!" Experts at the University of California, Berkeley, recently made a color that they call "Olo." However, it can ONLY be seen with the help of lasers. To learn more about it, check out our article "A Brand-New Color?" from April 28, 2025! 👁️🌈

Hi, Russ! I was wondering when most people get their wisdom teeth. Can you help me?
Collin
What an interesting question, Collin! Wisdom teeth start to grow under the gums in a person's mouth when they are around 7 to 10 years old. Those teeth form over years, and they finally start to push through the gums when a person is between 17 and 21 years old.

Hey Russ, it Charleigh. I know I don't write to you a lot but I have a question about New York if you wouldn't mind telling me a lot about it. It would be great to be honest!
Charleigh
Thanks for taking the time to write, Charleigh. I was born and raised in Manhattan, which is an area of New York City. I love the art and culture of the city. There are so many museums and wonderful music. I also like the parks in New York. If I am being honest, the city can get dirty and stinky sometimes, especially in the summer. So it is important to take breaks once in a while. But I do love New York!

Russ I have a question. How long does it take to get to the Moon?
Harmin850
That's a good question, Harmin. It depends what is going to the Moon! It takes light about 1 second to reach the Moon. When NASA sent astronauts to the Moon from 1969 to 1972, it took 3 or 4 days.
Russell Kahn
