How do rainbows form?

Amelia

Good question! Rainbows form when sunlight shines through drops of water in the air. As the light enters the water, it bends and separates into different colors. The light then bounces inside the raindrops and comes back out. That’s how we see a colorful rainbow in the sky! 🌈

Russell Kahn

Can you write more stories about penguins? I LOOOOOOOVE penguins.

Hiya, Lilah! I have great news for you! The writers at News-O-Matic have several recommendations for books. Type "Books We Love" into the Search to find a series of articles about the authors' favorite books. 📚

Russell Kahn

Hi, Russ. Have you heard the news? There's a new cat! Its called the leopardus tilcayo. Do you have any articles on it?

Isaac

We sure do, Isaac! Diana Richard wrote about the new cat for our September 18 edition! 🐱 Thanks for writing! We love hearing (and writing) about brand new animal species. What are some of your favorite animals to read about?

Russell Kahn

Dear Russ, I love the monarch butterfly article! I have milkweed in my backyard and I raise the monarchs from when they are caterpillars to the first 3 days of them being a butterfly. Me and my family even went to Mexico to see them. There were so many of them that they were making the trees look like they had scales!

Sarah 🦋

Wow, Sarah! That sounds like an amazing experience in Mexico. I'd love to hear more about it. I also love monarch butterflies, so thank you for making sure they have milkweed! 🦋

Russ

Hi, thank you for a wonderful website! I read a news story about the Girl Scout cookies. I can't wait for the dog treats! My dog Colt will love them.

You got it, Joseph! Be sure to see our recent articles about belugas, buffalos, birds, and a new type of cat! I will look for new Mars stories as well.

Russell Kahn

Dear Russ, what are your thoughts on Halloween? Halloween is my favorite holiday, but what are some meanings behind it? I've always wondered if there was some magical secret behind Halloween!

Aubry

That's a great question, Aubry, especially with October quickly coming up! Halloween comes from traditions all over the world. I'd recommend checking out Hannah Marcum's article "The History of Halloween" to learn more. You can type the name into the Search bar! 🎃
