I can't believe a sock monkey had that much history! It seems like a fun toy, and it was able to be made from just a sock. It's amazing how creative people can get, from the original design in the Great Depression, to the super sized one we see today.

Why wouldn't they put Punch in another habitat with other monkeys like him that liked him?

That's a really good question! I'm not an animal expert, so I can't be certain, but according to the Ichikawa City Zoo workers, it is normal for a baby macaque to need to learn how to behave with the rest of the group. The other monkeys are communicating with Punch about how they want him to act, even though it seems rough to us. Punch might have a hard time with any group of monkeys. He's just learning.
