One of the reasons Maine became part of Massachusetts was because it had a small population and was under threat. It suffered attacks at times from French soldiers in Canada and from Native American people. Maine remained part of Massachusetts until 1820 when it became a state.

There are eight planets in our solar system. The one closest to the Sun is Mercury. You can remember all the planets by thinking about the first letter of each word in this phrase: My Very Easy Method Just Speeds Up Naming. That's M V E M J S U N. Those are the first letters of each of the planets in order! They are Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, and Neptune!
