However, light moves VERY fast -- so it doesn't seem like it takes any time at all. Light travels 186,000 miles (300,000 km) every second! So, a light-year is a distance, not a time. A light-year is the distance that light travels in one year.

That separates the colors so you can see them in the form of a rainbow. Raindrops in the sky, splashes from a fountain or waterfall, or even spray from a hose can cause rainbows to form. ☀️💧🌈
