Christmas comes once a year. But in some places, the holiday spirit stays alive! There are spots that have festive names. Let’s take a trip to a few cheery towns!
Rudolph, Wisconsin
You have likely heard of Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer. One Wisconsin town shares his name! People call Rudolph, Wisconsin, home. Many
visit each year. In 2022, there was a Christmas market. People did a fun run called “Run Run Rudolph” too! Each year, people visit the Rudolph post office. They mail Christmas cards. There’s a special Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer
. Postal workers hand stamp each envelope!
Santa Claus, Indiana
The town of Santa Fe, Indiana, was created in 1846. Another Indiana town had the same name though. Leaders changed their city’s name to Santa Claus! Today,
call Santa Claus “America’s Christmas Hometown.” The community is jolly even down to its street names. There’s a roadway called North Kringle Place! (Kris Kringle is another name for Santa Claus.) The town holds holiday festivities too. There are holiday light shows, parades, and more!
North Pole, Alaska
The real North Pole is at the very top of the planet. But there is another one. It’s a town in Alaska! North Pole’s
is: “Where the spirit of Christmas lives year round.” The town has candy cane–striped streetlights. There are street names like Snowman Lane. There’s even a Christmas store. It’s called the Santa Claus House. The shop opened in 1952. A towering Santa Claus statue stands outside!
