Tiny Homes, Big Ideas!

An artist plans a little house that gives lots of choices.

Most homes have walls that stay in place. They keep spaces like kitchens and bedrooms separated. What if a home’s walls could move? Architect Beatrice Bonzanigo came up with a tiny home that can do that. She says her house could go almost anywhere. It could shift into many different shapes!

Bonzanigo is now showing off this home concept at Milan Design Week. That’s in Milan, Italy. The world’s top artists go there. They share what they’ve been working on. Bonzanigo brought a small model of her bold idea. She calls her home “Casa Ojalá.” That means “Hopefully House” in Spanish.

Bonzanigo’s full-sized home would be as big as three normal-sized parking spaces. She uses this small space efficiently. The circular building can have two small bedrooms, a bathroom, and a kitchen and living room combo. People can slide walls to make these rooms bigger or smaller. The walls can also slide all the way out — leaving one big open space! The house can take about 20 different shapes.

Casa Ojalá also promises a different choice. It would allow people to live nearly wherever they want. You could put the building on any kind of land. That could be on a desert, mountain, or beach. The house is easy to move. A truck could drop off the home.

The plan allows people to live on their own. The house could collect rainwater for drinking and bathing. And solar panels on its roof could give electricity. Bonzanigo wants Casa Ojalá to not hurt the environment nearby.

Bonzanigo has called this “a wish that comes true.” Now she is showing it off to possible investors. They may pay to help get the project built. That could make Bonzanigo’s dream a reality!
